What is the Google Ad Grants program?

Google Ad Grants provides eligible non-profit organizations with up to $10,000 USD per month in free Google Search advertising. The grant allows non-profits to promote their missions, drive donations, recruit volunteers, and raise awareness through Google Ads — at no cost for the ad spend. The program is available to registered 501(c)(3) organizations in the US and equivalent charitable organizations in other countries.

How do I qualify for Google Ad Grants?

To qualify for Google Ad Grants, your organization must hold valid charity status (501(c)(3) in the US, or equivalent), have a functional website with substantial content, and agree to Google's program policies. Government entities, hospitals, and academic institutions typically do not qualify for the standard grant but may be eligible for other Google for Nonprofits programs. The application process involves registering with Google for Nonprofits, then applying specifically for the Ad Grants program.

What are the Google Ad Grants compliance requirements?

Google Ad Grants accounts must maintain a 5% minimum click-through rate (CTR) each month, use valid conversion tracking, have at least 2 active ad groups per campaign with at least 2 active text ads per ad group, use geo-targeting, and include at least 2 sitelink ad extensions. Single-word keywords (except branded terms and approved exceptions) are prohibited. Accounts that fall out of compliance can be suspended.
